My work with not-for-profits

I try to add new case studies regularly as projects complete.

Every organisation I work with is different. The projects below give an honest picture of the kind of challenges I help with and how I approach them.

Recent projects

Digital programme

BRAC International

The challenge

Operating across multiple international entities, BRAC needed stronger digital governance and a more aligned digital ecosystem. Priorities included clarity on decision-making and ways of working, plus a shared approach to requirements for a unified web framework.

My approach

  • Ran a structured discovery and requirements process across stakeholders from various countries to clarify needs, constraints, and decision-making process
  • Translated those needs into a practical digital programme: governance, priorities, roadmap, and success measures
  • Defined requirements and supported procurement for a unified website framework, including selection criteria and recommendations

Outcome

A clear, governance-led digital programme that aligned multiple BRAC entities on priorities and ways of working, and created the foundations for a unified web framework built on the open-source Wagtail CMS.

Online fundraising

UNRWA

The challenge

UNRWA needed their donation website (donate.unrwa.org) to be more reliable and easier to improve over time, with multiple campaigns for a worldwide audience.

My approach

  • Acted as the main point of contact between UNRWA and vendors
  • Helped the team turn requests into clear briefs, priorities, and next steps
  • Kept work on track, flagged risks early, and made sure fixes were properly tested
  • Supported pilots and A/B test to improve overall conversion rate and internal efficiency

Outcome

Clearer delivery, fewer surprises, and a more dependable donation journey on donate.unrwa.org, with a practical plan for ongoing improvements. This is an ongoing partnership.

Digital programme

Light for the World International

The challenge

Light for the World International needed an international digital strategy that could actually be implemented: clearer priorities, stronger digital governance, and better alignment between audiences, content, channels and the underlying technology, in support of Strategy 2030. This work builds on a collaboration with Light for the World that started in 2019.

My approach

  • Ran structured stakeholder interviews and discovery to surface needs, constraints, and organisational friction points
  • Clarified digital priorities and decision-making (governance, ownership, operating rhythms, success measures)
  • Aligned audiences and content expectations with channel strategy and the required technology foundations
  • Translated the strategy into a practical programme and roadmap designed for an international operating context

Outcome

A clear international digital programme aligned to Strategy 2030, strengthening digital governance and turning strategic goals into practical priorities and an implementable roadmap.

Online fundraising

Dignité International

Project in French - in partnership with Allyy.io

The challenge

Dignité International wanted to strengthen digital fundraising performance and reduce manual work by improving donor journeys and introducing predictive AI, automated stewardship, especially to retain and reactivate donors beyond peak emergency moments.

My approach

  • Assessed the existing fundraising journey and the realities of the CRM and communications stack
  • Translated fundraising goals into clear use cases for predictive AI and automation (segmentation, prioritisation, next-best action)
  • Designed practical donor journey improvements and scenarios to support retention and reactivation
  • Focused on solutions that the team could run and maintain in day-to-day operations"

Outcome

A practical predictive-AI driven approach to improve donor journeys and fundraising performance, enabling more personalised stewardship, stronger retention, and smarter reactivation through automation.

AI framework

ADA

Project in French

The challenge

After more than seven years working with ADA across several digital projects, the team asked for help clarifying how AI should and should not be used across the organisation, in a way that is practical for day-to-day work.

My approach

  • Reviewed how different teams were already using AI, where it created value, and where the risks and grey areas were
  • Defined a practical AI framework: principles, governance, dos and don'ts, and team-ready guidance
  • Focused on real operational use cases (knowledge management, content production, analysis, internal efficiency), rather than abstract policy

Outcome

A clear, usable AI framework that helps ADA adopt AI responsibly and consistently across teams, with guidance designed to be applied in everyday workflows.

Digital transformation

Amnesty International UK

In partnership with Adapta Consulting

The challenge

Amnesty International UK needed to reimagine key parts of their digital ecosystem to better serve distinct audiences, particularly supporters and activists. This included improving their web presence and creating a clearer, more joined-up supporter and activist experience across tools and channels.

My approach

  • Led discovery to align stakeholders on objectives, audiences, and what "good" should look like in practice
  • Mapped the existing tool landscape and ways of working to identify friction, duplication, and gaps
  • Shaped a practical roadmap for improving web presence and end-to-end journeys, grounded in organisational capacity and governance
  • Facilitated structured consultations to capture user needs and translate them into actionable briefs to launch the procurement process

Outcome

A clearer, user-led direction for Amnesty International UK's digital ecosystem, with a practical roadmap to improve web presence and supporter and activist journeys, aligned to organisational priorities and delivery reality.

Digital programme

BRAC Europe

The challenge

Launching BRAC Europe across seven European markets required a coherent digital presence and a practical operating model: clear governance, the right audiences and messages for institutional fundraising, and a roadmap the team could execute without adding complexity.

My approach

  • Clarified objectives, audiences, and success measures for a pan-European launch
  • Defined a governance and operating rhythm (ways of working, ownership, decision-making, measurement)
  • Shaped a practical digital programme covering content, channels, and the foundations of the supporting tech stack
  • Turned priorities into an actionable roadmap designed for a small team and multi-market delivery

Outcome

A structured digital programme to support BRAC Europe's multi-country launch, with clear governance, priorities, and an execution roadmap aligned to European audiences and institutional funding goals.

Technology signposting

Micro Insurance Network

The challenge

Micro Insurance Network needed to upgrade how they manage member relationships and operations. Information was spread across different tools, with limited automation for key workflows like membership tracking, engagement history, and payment follow-up.

My approach

  • Clarified what the CRM needed to enable in day-to-day operations (member records, interactions, working groups, payments, communications)
  • Turned needs into a practical requirements set, separating business-critical from nice-to-have
  • Provided structured signposting: shortlist logic, selection approach, and implementation sequencing to match a small team's capacity

Outcome

A clear CRM requirements and selection path to move from fragmented tools to a system that supports member management, engagement tracking, and practical automation (including payment reminders and working group coordination).

Digital transformation

Fondation Saint Matthieu

Project in French

The challenge

Fondation Saint Matthieu needed more operational clarity across fundraising, communications, events, and reporting. Day-to-day work relied on manual processes and disconnected tools, making it hard to keep data clean, produce reliable reporting, and run campaigns efficiently.

My approach

  • Started with process review: mapped and documented core workflows before jumping to new tools
  • Identified the biggest friction points across the stack (CRM, donation platform, email marketing, events, analytics and reporting)
  • Focused on practical improvements: better integration, cleaner data practices, and simpler reporting rhythms the team could sustain

Outcome

A practical digital transformation roadmap to improve how teams work day to day: clearer processes, stronger integration across tools, and better reporting foundations to support fundraising and communications.

Mentoring and upskilling

IE Impact Challenge (IE University)

The challenge

Students needed to learn how to build credible, usable digital strategies for NGOs under real-world constraints: limited time, limited resources, and high expectations for clarity and impact.

My approach

  • Mentored teams through a structured strategy process (research, diagnosis, roadmap, measurement) using realistic NGO scenarios
  • Coached students to translate ideas into practical plans: audience insight, journeys, channels, data, AI considerations, and execution priorities
  • Provided feedback and assessment against clear criteria, preparing teams to present to sector professionals

Outcome

Student teams produced end-to-end digital strategies that were structured, defensible, and practical, building real capability in digital planning, prioritisation, and execution-ready roadmapping. Started in 2025 with 55 students, this course restarts in 2026 with more than a hundred.

Does any of this sound familiar?

If you recognise these challenges in your own organisation, I'd be glad to talk through where you are and what might help.
