Privacy policy

I was told legally I need to have a Privacy policy page. I think it's pointless. But you are here - maybe you care about data privacy or you love policies! Me too! That's why I help organisations implement robust data governance frameworks to handle the use of AI. But for me, here, on this website: no need.

So this page explains my policy: what personal data I collect when you use this website and how I handle it.

TLDR: none

Who I am

I'm Bertie Bosrédon. My company is Bertie Digital Services Ltd registered in the UK (since 2012).
If you need to reach me, email: help@bertie.fr

What data I collect

When you email me:
  • Your email address
  • The content of your message

That's it. I don't have a contact form on this site.

Website analytics (Umami Cloud)

I use Umami Cloud, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how the site is used. It only collects anonymised, high-level information such as:
  • Pages visited (page paths)
  • Referrer
  • Browser type
  • Screen size

Umami does not set cookies on this site and I don't store personal identifiers through analytics.

That means:

  • No data given to Google
  • No "share on social media" widget so no data given to Meta, Alphabet, X etc.
  • Yes, no annoying cookie banner!

Why I collect it

  • Email correspondence: to respond to your enquiry (legitimate interest)
  • Analytics: to understand how the site is used and improve it (legitimate interest) - how many engaged views this page gets is one of my KPIs so continue reading. Thank you.

I don't use your data for marketing unless you explicitly consent.

Third-party processors

I looked at many tools - that's what I do for my NGO clients. Matomo and Plausible are also privacy-first tools but I selected Umami because they have a free plan based on the number of views and some features I don't need, like heatmaps. I've reviewed their data processing terms and it's good! No other third-party services process personal data on this site.

How long I keep your data

  • Email: I keep correspondence for as long as it's relevant to our working relationship, and delete it when it's no longer needed
  • Analytics: Umami analytics data is anonymised and not linked to individuals

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data I hold about you, and to object to processing.
To exercise these rights, email help@bertie.fr.

You can also lodge a complaint with the UK supervisory authority (ICO): ico.org.uk

Cookies

This site does not set cookies.

I told you. Pointless. But if you are here, please send me an email to tell me you enjoyed reading my Privacy policy. I have a KPI just for engaged visits on this page.
